Coon Rapids is seeking self motivated and community service oriented Police Officer Candidates who possess excellent and professional interpersonal skills for our 2008/2009 Police Officer Eligibility Roster. Our dynamic police department includes 66 sworn officers working in areas including patrol, investigations, Community Oriented Policing, School Liaison, and K-9. Associate’s degree in Police Science required and applicants must attain the age of 21 years by the application due date of June 3, 2008. Applicants must be P.O.S.T. eligible as of June 3, 2008, and must provide a copy of their POST certification with their Coon Rapids application. All candidates must possess valid D.L. with good driving record. Two years of experience in a full-time Police Department may be substituted for each year of the educational requirement. City application form must be completed and on file no later than 4:30 pm, Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Resumes are welcome; however, resumes will not be accepted in lieu of a City application.
